Betty Anne Markwardt is a published, award-winning photographer and writer and a full-time honors student. Her work has appeared in Travel Denver, Voyage Denver, and numerous websites. She is experienced in product and marketing photography, sports, portraits, landscapes, travel, and animals.
 

A Colorado native, Betty has traveled the world with her camera, photographing everywhere from Uganda to Ireland, though Colorado and its mountains remain at the heart of her artistic work. She is currently working on the images for the second edition of  Colorado Day Trips by Theme travel book, published by AdventureKeen. 

 

She has earned well over a dozen awards, including the Photographic Society of America Worldwide's Best of Show in 2026, Overall Grand Champion and two first places at in the open photography category for the Larimer County Fair in 2026, and the Excellence in Photography award in 2024. She is an invited and sponsored member of the Photographic Society of America. 
 

Betty began studying photography in fourth grade and was invited to join her middle school’s AP Photography Club. By high school, she was photographing professional arena football, adding to an already extensive portfolio of sports teams and events.
